FOOD & DRINKS MALAYSIA BY SIAL 2026 SET TO ELEVATE MALAYSIA’S POSITION AS A REGIONAL F&B TRADE HUB

FDM2026 returns with Chocolate Show 2026, Global Culinary Challenge Malaysia, ASEAN Barista Team Championship and strategic alignment with Visit Malaysia Year 2026

Kuala Lumpur, 25 June 2026 – Food & Drinks Malaysia by SIAL (FDM2026) officially unveiled its biggest and most dynamic edition yet at a press conference held today at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), announcing an expanded showcase that reinforces Malaysia’s growing influence as a regional hub for food, beverage, hospitality and culinary innovation.

Set to take place from 21 to 23 July 2026 at MITEC, FDM 2026 will run concurrently with Chocolate Show 2026, bringing together global brands, regional industry players, culinary professionals and innovators under one platform that celebrates Southeast Asia’s growing influence in the food and beverage industry.

Press conference Henri Tan speaking

Speaking at the press conference, Mr Henri Tan, Exhibition Director of Comexposium Sdn Bhd, shared that FDM2026 reflects the growing momentum of Malaysia’s food and beverage industry and its increasing importance within the regional trade landscape. “Food & Drinks Malaysia by SIAL continues to evolve beyond a trade exhibition; it is a strategic business platform that connects ideas, innovation, talent and commerce. Through FDM2026, we aim to create stronger regional partnerships, unlock new market opportunities and position Malaysia as a preferred destination for the global food and beverage industry. As Southeast Asia's leading F&B marketplace, FDM champions entrepreneurship by providing a platform where innovators, startups, and foodpreneurs can transform ideas into commercial opportunities and regional success stories."

The Guest of Honour of the event was Ms Tan Mei Phing, Chief Executive Officer of Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB), who highlighted the important role business events such as FDM2026 play in contributing to Malaysia’s tourism economy and the broader ambitions of Visit Malaysia Year 2026.

Adding to the excitement, internationally respected culinary figure, Masterchef KK Yau, Chief Judge of the 5th Global Culinary Challenge Malaysia and Worldchefs Vice Continental Director for Asia, highlighted the platform’s role in nurturing culinary excellence, inspiring emerging chefs and strengthening Malaysia’s reputation within the international culinary community.

Meanwhile, Karmen Yoong, Deputy Director (Industry Development) of ASEAN Coffee Federation, shared insights into the ASEAN Barista Team Championship 2026, which will spotlight regional coffee talent, creativity and innovation while strengthening collaboration within Southeast Asia’s growing café and specialty coffee scene.

FDM2026’s collaboration with Visit Malaysia Year 2026 was further brought to life through a special appearance by official mascots Wira and Manja, underscoring the synergy between tourism, culture, food and business events in promoting Malaysia on the global stage.

Guests were also treated to an experiential showcase by COWA, the key presenter for the ASEAN Barista Team Championship 2026. The showcase reflected FDM 2026’s “Taste” pillar through innovative café concepts and modern interpretations of coconut-based creations, including Matcha Coconut, Coffee Coconut Latte, and Coconut Gelato.

Returning with the theme “Savour Southeast Asia: The Epicentre of Taste, Trade & Talent,” FDM 2026 is expected to welcome 500 exhibitors and 18,000 trade attendees from across the region and beyond, further cementing Malaysia’s position as a strategic gateway for the ASEAN food and beverage industry.
