EXHIBITOR ADVISORY
Food & Drinks Malaysia 2026 by SIAL is committed to providing a safe, professional, and secure business environment for all exhibitors, visitors, partners, and stakeholders.
As with many international trade exhibitions worldwide, unauthorised third-party companies may attempt to exploit exhibitors and visitors by falsely claiming to represent FDM2026, its organisers, or its official partners. These parties may use misleading emails, phone calls, websites, or marketing materials to solicit payments or obtain confidential information.
We encourage all participants to remain vigilant and refer to the guidance below.
Common Types of Scams
1) Attendee List & Database Scams
You may receive emails offering to sell visitor databases, attendee lists, exhibitor contacts, or other marketing data purportedly related to FDM2026.
Please note that FDM2026 and its organisers do not sell, rent, or distribute attendee contact information to third parties.
Any individual or company claiming to possess or sell official attendee lists for FDM2026 is not authorised by the organiser and should be treated with caution.
2) Hotel & Accommodation Scams
Unauthorised travel agencies or accommodation providers may contact exhibitors and visitors with offers of discounted hotel rates, special room packages, or urgent accommodation bookings related to FDM2026.
These offers may be misleading and could involve hidden charges, non-existent reservations, or fraudulent payment requests.
Participants are advised to make hotel reservations only through official channels announced by the organiser or directly with reputable accommodation providers.
3) Directory Listing & Fair Guide Scams
Some companies may invite exhibitors to update or verify company information for trade directories, exhibition guides, or online databases.
While these communications may appear legitimate, they often contain hidden terms and conditions that result in unexpected subscription fees or recurring charges.
Exhibitors should carefully review all documentation before signing or making any payment.
4) Fake Sponsorship, Advertising, or Marketing Opportunities
Fraudulent organisations may offer advertising placements, sponsorship packages, promotional opportunities, or event-related marketing services while falsely implying an association with FDM2026.
Participants should verify any such offers directly with the organiser before proceeding.
5) Unauthorised Contractors & Exhibition Services
Exhibitors may be contacted by companies offering booth construction, stand design, furniture rental, logistics, electrical services, or other exhibition-related services while claiming to be official suppliers of FDM2026.
Before engaging any service provider, exhibitors are advised to verify their status with the organiser.
Official contractors appointed for FDM2026 will be communicated through official channels. The organiser is not responsible for any services or transactions arranged with unauthorised providers.
